North Vietnamese Pit helmet, this was the standard issue for many North Vietnam Army NVA soldiers in this case it is an enlisted mans helmet with the solid red crest. Not of any protection but light to wear and keep the sun off of the soldiers head. This head gear was also sometimes substitute with their version of a booney hat or no hat at all.

 

"NVA" (NORTH VIETNAMESE ARMY) "BAO VE" (PRISONER GUARD) HELMET BADGE. MEASURES APPROXIMATELY 1 1/4 INCH IN DIAMETER.

"NVA" (NORTH VIETNAMESE ARMY) "CONG AN" (MILITARY POLICE) HELMET BADGE. MEASURES APPROXIMATELY 1 1/4 INCH IN DIAMETER.

"VIET CONG" (COMMUNIST - NATIONAL LIBERATION FRONT) BADGE FOR THE FATIGUE CAP. MEASURES APPROXIMATELY 1 INCH IN DIAMETER.

Next to this are twoNVA belt buckles for an enlisted man.

NVA issued shoes more like a jungle gym shoe these were issued up in Northern Vietnam and replaced after wear with the famous Ho Chi Min sandals

SKS rifle issued to NVA as well as VC (Viet Cong) main force and VC irregulars. A sturdy rifle and much prized by GI's as they could be allowed to take these home as they were not automatic weapons. Note the folding bayonet.
