Maps of 3rd Platoon AO
The 3rd platoon had various duties during its years with the 198th LIB. These duties went from the extreme of river patrol to land patrol of coastal Highway 1 also known as QL 1. The Area of Operation (A.O.) went through two main provences, just into Southern Quang Nam sometimes as far as Tam Ky, as well as Northern Quang Ngai. Here are some maps with different views to show the patrol areas. Special thanks to fellow Americal Veterans 174th Assault Helicopter Company for letting us use their tactical map showing Americal Division LZ locations.
